Originally, on this page we planned to place the price list for our services, which we can offer and show the range of prices from minimum to maximum. But this range appeared to be so big, that it is impossible to set the price.

It may sound trivial, but before starting to do something we need to decide clearly what goal we want to reach. And only after that it will be possible to discuss the volume of work, which will need to be done and therefore the final value of the project. Answer for the obvious question about the goal is the one hiding behind an excellent term-“a good goal setting'. However, it is not as simple as it seems to be. Following goal settings may also jump out in web design, “We need site for our company. How much does it cost?” Perhaps, the reaction of company's representative may puzzle such a customer. Moreover, the customer can even become suspicious, “Why isn't this representative saying anything; he looks like he is pondering over something, maybe he thinks how to get more money from us, that's for sure.” Actually, the web designer is just preparing to ‘give a mini-lecture'. He wants to say that all companies are different, their requirements are different, so their sites must be different too, which leads to different volume of work and, consequently, to different costs, based on costumer demands. After such a “lecture” there will be a discussion followed by work on goal setting documents.

Actually, goal setting is the only stage of software design which lies completely on the customer's shoulders. The company may help him/her in document processing, but it may not know what the customer really wants. It can just ask some leading questions and give advice based on its own experience.
